The Vaporfly 4 is a lean, mean, mile-eating machine. We trimmed weight in the midsole, outsole and upper from the Vaporfly 3 without sacrificing performance. The result is a lighter, more propulsive all-around racing shoe that’s trusted from the mile to the marathon.
Engineered mesh helps reduce the weight of the shoe while providing a more consistent fit. And we saved more weight by reducing the size of the heel and tongue.
Nike ZoomX, our most responsive foam, just got lighter. Running from heel to toe, it unlocks even more energy return than before with a slight midsole reduction, giving you a bouncy feel.
We reduced the weight of the outsole by using a thinner rubber compared to the Vaporfly 3.
The full-length carbon fiber Flyplate sits at a higher angle compared to the plate in the Vaporfly 3. It combines with a lower heel-to-toe drop to give you a propulsive feel on race day.

Amazing shoe that doesn’t last too long

Excellent show - feels amazing - super light and looks incredible…but poor design on the sole. The two rubber plates on the heel are too small and start to peel pretty quickly from minimal usage. They needed to follow the rubber sole all the way through. Any time you just have foam exposed to the street - get ready for it to rip and tear.

I got these for Christmas and did one workout in them and they felt super fast while at the same time feeling cushioned and can’t wait to race in them during xc season

Love the cushioning. I can’t road run on old joints without the cushioning. And yet light weight so it doesn’t feel like you’re trudging.
