Summer is about here and I know I’m in need of new swimwear. I’m not 20-something anymore, so wearing skimpy bikinis left the chat awhile ago. So when I got the chance to order this Nike Swim Effortless Essential Women’s Kickshorts, I was excited to give them a try.
I’m a 5’3 US size 10 female who usually wears a size large in bottoms, so that’s the size I tried. While the kickshorts are form fitting, they aren’t uncomfortable and tight to the point where I feel like I’m going to have to peel myself out of them at the end of the day. They fit how I would expect a swimsuit to fit… comfortably snug. I like that these kickshorts aren’t low rise, so I get a little bit of extra support in the tummy area, which also helps me feel a little more confident out in public.
As for the design of the kickshorts, I really like it. The first thing I noticed right out of the package was that these bottoms have 2 side pockets. I have never owned a swim bottom that had pockets before, so that’s a definite plus. I can easily stick the pool’s rented locker key in there and it stays put the whole time I’m swimming. I also like the fact that these shorts don’t have legs that aren’t too long. It gives just enough coverage to completely cover my booty but still be able to almost completely tan my legs.
The fabric Nike chose is also nice, since it stretches and flexes with me no matter if I’m in or out the pool. It’s also very breathable and dries quickly after I climb out of the pool. Plus the teal color of these bottoms is beautiful. It’s a color that goes great with tan skin, plus pairs well with so many other colors out there that it’s very versatile.
If I had to pick one things that was my favorite about these kickshorts, it would have to be the fit. I definitely have a round booty and these kickshorts fit both my booty and my smaller waistline. That can usually be a struggle for me so I’m glad I didn’t have to struggle with that with these bottoms. If I had the chance to change one thing about these kickshorts, I would actually have two different waistlines to pick from. I would keep this one as is, but then also offer one with a higher waistline with some tummy control. I know several women who would love an option like that.
Overall I am really glad I got the chance to try this pair of Nike Swim Effortless Essential Women’s Kickshorts. I found the perfect Nike Tankini to wear it with so now I’m all set for the pool this summer.
