Nike Field General

The Field General is a comfortable, every day, casual shoe! I found them to go with any outfit and I recommend them to anyone looking for an every day shoe.

Overall, I’m liking my new Nike Field Generals, but not loving them. These shoes are kind of like a strange mix of Dunks, Air Force 1’s, and Air Max 1s. They almost have a low pro aesthetic, but aren’t quite low/sleek enough to fit in with my other cleat-inspired Nikes like the Total 90s. I kind of wish they were either chunkier or sleeker, style wise. I like the simple color pallet of my Field Generals, but would prefer if they were all suede instead of being a mix of materials, although the mix does add to the sportiness of the shoe. Overall, the Field Generals fit true to size. They are definitely narrow compared to other Nikes and were hard to get on the first couple of wears, but once on they’re pretty comfortable. The materials used are a combination of suede and a sort of thicker mesh, which I feel adds to the stiffness. Due to the neutral color pallet and simple aesthetic, I find these shoes delightfully easy to style. I’ve worn them with dresses and skirts on the weekends and with jeans or slacks to work. They’re easy to dress up or down and comfortable enough for most scenarios. In my opinion these aren’t showstoppers, but they’re simple enough to work on multiple occasions and can be styled in a multitude of ways. The Field Generals are interesting new shape for me and while they may not be my favorite shoe, I like that they’re something fresh that I can pair with many different items.

Retro-looking shoes that can encompass and enhance your look. Very comfortable and breathable especially in this hot weather. They’ve held up pretty well over time and provide great grip on the floor. My only qualm with them is they are very tight on the top of the shoe even with loose laces, so maybe order a size up.
