CONTROL YOUR GAME
Soccer is a game of control. Command the ball and you run the match. For the launch of the EA SPORTS PhantomVSN, we took a closer look at how Kevin De Bruyne, Fran Kirby, and Federico Bernardeschi dominate the game with their individual strengths on the pitch.
For Man City midfielder Kevin De Bruyne, soccer is a mental game. With perfectly timed passes through defenders to find the open man, his mind is his greatest weapon on the pitch. “I think I have the vision to know what's gonna happen,” he says. “I think that's one of my gifts.” By anticipating players’ movements, he creates chances for teammates to makes the difference before the defense knows what’s happening.
Chelsea forward Fran Kirby, on the other hand, wins her matches with a relentless control of the ball. “I'm always a player that wants to get on the ball,” she says. “You know, getting into position, … being able to play in tight areas and being able to get out.” From long runs on goal to defender-shaking cuts in the box, the textured Flyknit of the EA SPORTS PhantomVSN keeps the ball at Kirby’s feet — right up until she puts it in the net.
CONTROL THE PACE
Italian winger Federico Bernardeschi controls the game by setting an outlandish pace no defender can match. With stamina that leaves defenders in the dust and the ability to guard the ball in the most intense ankle-to-ankle battles, the versatile footballer is the prime example of someone who fights hard for every single ball.
