The 2018-19 season marks the 20th year of partnership between FC Internazionale Milano and Nike. In that time the club has won five domestic titles, four domestic cup trophies, one European cup and one world club trophy. Inter’s new home jersey builds on these previous successes by combining elements of two fan favorites. The thick black and blue stripes and gold Swoosh come from the first Nike kit of 1998-99, while the stripes’ distorted visual effect is inspired by the hugely popular 2010-11 kit, which the team wore as reigning champions of Italy and Europe. Fans will hope that this jersey will inspire the team to further glory.
Once the emblem of the House of Visconti, the Biscione snake has become a Milanese icon. Inter Milan adopted the symbol for the serpent's blue color and the strength it represents—as well as using it in the club's early crest designs. "It will be called Internazionale, because we are brothers of the world". Spoken by founder Giorgio Muggiani on the eve of the club's founding in 1908, these words inspired one of the most talented clubs in Italian and European football.
With 18 Serie A titles, five of which were back-to-back, and a famed treble in the 2009/10 season, the club has consistently earned its place in the top tier of Italian and European football. From Ronaldo to Icardi, Internazionale's founding vision has shaped the club into a force to be reckoned with on the pitch.
