A little narrow

I purchased a pair of Chuck 70's to replace my 2 year old pair. Which I wore day in and day out. Loved them. The new ones are disappointing, the rear heel padding has been replaced by a inner plastic between the canvas layers. Feels like a weak point where my heel will eventually rub through to the plastic. They have also removed the extra lining in the toe side walls. Even the canvas feels less durable on the inside, which is starting to get fuzzy after just a week of use. I'm doubtful these will last the punishment I put my previous pair through. Might have to shop another line or another brand on the next purchase.
