SFB Origins

The SFB collection honors Nike co-founder Bill Bowerman and his WWII service. Upon his return, he became the head track and field coach at his alma mater, the University of Oregon, where he began creating high-performance footwear for his athletes. Amazing boots for all terrain.

Oh man I love these boots. Contrary to the other review I see on these boots I do less physical labor/work and more hiking, exploring terrain, and frankly I wear them everywhere, to the grocery store, to the beach, to run to Dunkin which doesn’t even require me to get out of the car. They are super well made, waterproof which is good cuz there’s a lot of snow on the ground in Maine this year. They are warm but not excessively so. The sizing is great, I’m a pretty beefy women and I wear an 11 in women’s so finding shoes that fit well and don’t look bulky is rlly hard. I really have no complaints at all, they are just wonderful.

As a woman it can be very hard to find high quality work boots in my size. I have been using my original SFBs for several years and they needed replacing. I just got these Gortex ones in and they're really nice. I'm happy that the leather is smooth and not suede like and won't cling onto mud or grime. They seem well made a durable, but are also lightweight compared to some of the other boots I've tried to purchase and ended up returning. I forgot I was wearing them on my first day using them, and there hasn't been a painful break in period. No blisters! They are lined, which I was not expecting and I'm hoping they will breathe well in the summer. The tongue is mounted to the boot so it will prevent grain and dust from making it way in when I'm climbing through piles. Over all I'm happy with the product and looking forward to using them. The only thing I wish to replace are the laces, which feel like cheap polyester and aren't long enough to wrap around the top of the boot.
