Nike Ava Edge

Very comfortable training shoe. Materials and color way have gotten many compliments. Runs true to size

The fit was perfect, at first I thought it would be snug but they ended up being roomy enough for runs, walks, and cutting through the trails. The Nike Ava Edge performed amazingly every chance it got. I would be on a paved or rocky trail and feel like I was walking on pillows. With water puddles I was confident that I would not slip and fall like a 1950s cartoon character. The design reminds me of the times I used to spray paint my old workshop projects in shop class. The art feels like I made the choice to customize it that way. Also it matches the rock dust on the trails in my area. The metallic spray paint design really stands out and is a great pop of color, especially with all the boring flat colored running shoes going around. The materials are flexible yet strong, and durable yet comfy if that makes sense. Pretty much one of the best shoes you could buy and wear every day without giving it a second thought. Breathable as well. I liked the style and comfort of the shoes most. It gives off comfy laid back Y2k vibes and that nostalgia makes me appreciate the aesthetic it has going for itself. I would probably change the material to a Gore-Tex because I just love water proofing everything. Other than that it's a perfect all day shoe.

Right out of the box, the first thing that hits you is the design language. Nike is leaning heavily into futurism with the Ava Edge. Where the previous Ava Rover had a chunky, friendly streetwear look, the Edge is way more aggressive. The defining feature is the notched, pixelated grid pattern wrapping around the outsole. The upper features a unique mix of woven textiles and mesh netting, overlaid with a geometric grid that makes the shoe look like a 3D architectural render. It’s clean, it looks fast standing still, and it pairs incredibly well with cargos, tech-wear, or cropped pants. Like its predecessors in the Ava line, the Ava Edge runs narrow and slightly small. For narrow/average feet: Stick to your true size if you like a very snug, locked-in feel, but going up a half size is highly recommended for daily casual comfort. For wide feet: You absolutely must go half a size to a full size up, or the structured grid overlays on the side of the shoe will squeeze the sides of your feet.
