Shoes are very comfortable, great cushioning. Traction is great as well. Surprisingly breathable. I did have to size up 1/2 size—runs small compared to the same non-goretex model.

I was looking for a waterproof shoe and I always look for anything made with Gore Tex. This shoe is very comfortable and the first time I wore them in the rain, my feet and the shoes were soaked through. It is a comfortable shoe and I would not recommend if you want something that is waterproof.

I love the Nike Pegasus Trail 4 GTX, but not the 5 version. One of the best parts of the shoe is the sleeve that goes around your heel. It appears the height of the shoe around the heel has been reduced by about a cm, and it makes a difference - the sleeve no longer wraps around your heel. Hopefully Nike will return to the design of version 4. Also to note - these trainers have never been waterproof.
