Nike Pegasus Trail 5 GORE-TEX

I love the look and comfort but the toe box is bigger than my normal 10.5 Nike shoes run.

I started running 3 months ago at the age of 67, having never really been in to running all my life. I bought a pair of these as I wanted something that would work for me on the trail aswell as the road and would protect my heels in particular as I have had issues with heel pain after medium length walks. They have been simply outstanding for both running and walking and on routes up to 10 miles. I have now covered over 200km and suffered no pain in my legs or feet and they give me confidence on all sorts of mixed terrain. I have got my 5k time down to sub 30min on the road and around 32 min on the trail. I bought half a size bigger than normal and they fit perfectly. I'm so impressed that I've already bought a second pair ready for when these wear out.

I don't usually write reviews but I thought I would share my thoughts. I absolutely loved the Trail 3 Gore-Tex running shoes and have owed about 5 pairs buying up a pair whenever I could. I felt it was time to move on and try the Trail 5. Cushioning is nice and the shoe performs well on and off road, in dry and wet conditions but I miss the wider toe box and the ankle cuff isn't great on the 5; it's not snug enough around the ankle. I like them but I don't love them.
