Our most versatile training shoe flexes with you.

Flex your performance in the Free Metcon 7. Our most versatile training shoe gets updated with enhanced midfoot containment while still keeping our famed Nike Free technology. The flexible forefoot and stable heel easily let you switch from dynamic to strength-based movements.

Flexible Outsole

Nike Free technology combines stable foam in the heel with a softer, more flexible foam in the forefoot. It works with flex grooves on the outsole to deliver the flexibility dynamic workouts demand.

Midfoot Containment

To help hold your foot in place as you move, we paired a webbed lacing system with an inner sleeve. Together, they provide added containment for a secure and snug fit.

Breathable Upper

Lightweight mesh up top helps keep the shoe breathable and comfortable, no matter how much your workouts heat up.

What's New?

  • Webbed lacing and a midfoot containment system replace Flywire cables
  • Added durability around the toe tip and the side of the shoe for support

  • The Ultimate All-in-One Training Shoe!

    Red

I have been putting the Nike Free Metcon 7 through its paces, and it has easily become the most versatile and reliable footwear in my rotation. If you need a shoe that seamlessly transitions between different physical demands without skipping a beat, this is it. Why It’s the Perfect Hybrid: All-Day Work Comfort: I wear these shoes every single day for work, and the comfort level is unmatched. Even during long hours on my feet, the combination of cushioning and support keeps foot fatigue completely at bay. Elite Weightlifting Stability: When it comes to hitting the weights, the Metcon DNA shines. The wide, flat heel provides an incredibly solid, planted base for heavy squats, deadlifts, and overhead presses, giving you the stability you need to lift with confidence. Agile Cardio Training: Unlike traditional stiff lifting shoes, the "Free" technology in the forefoot offers fantastic flexibility. They feel lightweight and responsive during intense cardio training sessions, sprints, and agility drills. Durability & Style: The upper construction is tough enough to handle intense friction and daily grind, yet it maintains a sharp, athletic aesthetic that looks great both inside and outside the gym. Nike managed to perfectly balance the flexibility needed for cardio with the rigid stability required for serious weightlifting. Wearing them daily for both work and training has proven their incredible durability. Highly recommended for anyone who demands peak performance from their gear all day, every day!

  • Size up!

    Pete

I generally wear a size 10 for Nike (10.5 for most Jordans) and I'd start by saying that these run a bit narrow AND short. I can feel my pinky toes being gently tucked inward and there's a little less room in front of my toes in the toebox than I'd like. This is my first pair of metcons so I can't compare them to previous generations. There are no active hotspots from a comfort standpoint, which is a relief since the heel pull tab does come slightly higher than the heel, but it's short enough that it never actually touches your achilles. I like that most of the upper is a soft mesh (it's thick though so breathability isn't as amazing as your favorite runners) except for the high abrasion zones which are bonded (probably why I feel a bit cramped). The mesh is extremely soft and plush though so even tightening the laces causes no discomfort across the top of my foot. The midsole is very firm and flat, which is great for lifting without being so hard that I haven't been able to do some treadmill work. Overall, I still wish the toebox was a bit wider, but I do have slightly wide feet so YMMV.

  • Sleek & Supportive

The Nike Free Metcon 7s are awesome. They look incredibly sleek without compromising on comfort or support. I have a wider foot and use these for both gym workouts and walking. While they can start to feel a little tight after longer wear, they are overall very comfortable. I usually need wide widths in other brands, so I was really excited that these Nikes still worked well for me while looking great. The breathable design, cushioning, and heel support all feel high quality. My only request would be a slightly wider toe box, or a wide-width option in the future. Overall, I love them!
