Lost elasticity too fast

Really surprised and disappointed. I got a pack for my 10 yr old son and after the fourth or fifth wash the elasticity of the socks completely disappeared. Very odd. My son has thin legs so that did not cause the issue and now they won't stay up. Very strange as I have been purchasing Nike socks for years (of all sizes, varieties, etc.) and I have never had an issue prior to this 6-pack.
