Women's running trainers: the power to perform
Our commitment to the women's running movement began back in 1979. As proud partners of the International Running Committee, we were thrilled to support the drive for equality in distance running. Today, you'll find ladies' running shoes to carry you through every step. From park runs to ultra-marathons. From lightning sprints to tough mountain trails. Wherever the journey takes you—our footwear is built so that you can test your limits, and then push past them.
Run in all conditions with high-tech outsoles
A great performance is built from the ground up. That's why we design our women's running trainers with engineered outsoles for maximum confidence with every step. Lengthways grooves give you exceptional traction on wet or slippy surfaces, while flexible rubber materials ensure your footwear flexes with the natural movement of your feet. Opt for road running shoes with tough, durable outsoles for hard terrain, or choose ultra-grippy soles for trail running. Training for a track and field event? Our specialist running spikes come with removable pins so you can wear them your way.
Cushioned inner soles for maximum power
Wherever and however you run, every stride you take puts a lot of force on your joints. Our running shoes for women are built with deep cushioning that absorbs the impact of each step, giving you the confidence to run further, faster and harder. But our women's running trainers don't just absorb that energy, they return it. Nike Air units support and cradle your heel, for extra pop as you power off and come back down. ZoomX foam absorbs the energy of your landing and then returns it to power your next move, for a springy, responsive feeling. And carbon-fibre plates give extra responsiveness that keeps you moving forwards.
Lightweight uppers: the freedom to move
Every gram counts when you're pushing your limits. That's why we build our running shoes for women with all the clever tech in our armoury to ensure they feel light and responsive. Just like our Nike FlyKnit uppers, which give exceptional breathability with flexible wear. Or the padding at the collar that helps create a snug, glove-like feeling and reduces the risk of chafing. Keep an eye out for weight-reducing side supports for the laces that mean there's no need for an arch band. And because the female ankle is, on average, 4–5mm further forward than the male ankle, you'll find adjusted shapes that are built to hug your foot perfectly.
Nike's Move to Zero: the race of our lives
The one race we all have to play our part in? The one to save the future of our planet. Nike's Move to Zero programme is built to shift our business to producing net-zero carbon emissions and net-zero waste. It's why we use recycled nylon and polyester, harvested from sources like fishing nets, carpets and plastic bottles and spun into high-quality yarn. And it's also why since 2008, we've built all our Nike Air units with at least 50% recycled waste. Plus, since 2020, all of our Air Manufacturing Innovation facilities in North America are powered by 100% wind energy.
