Background: Coming off an ACL surgery 10 months ago and going back into recreational amateur-club level football, so I was looking for something that is safe for 3g artificial grass. Also playing on artificial grass and turf, I was aware of slippage that can happen when the surface is wet or slick, so I really appreciate the round (longer) rubber studs on wet surface. (Usual turf shoes slip way too easily on wet surfaces) Fit: Due to availability(!), I had to try on the AG version in-store and then order the turf version online. I would recommend going half a size above the AG version. The AG version was a size 9.5; the same in turf version is tight, but at the same time, I can also feel the shoe has expanded a little in the last two outings. In hindsight, my current 9.5 is definitely playable, but I wouldn't mind a size 10. (As a silver lining, I can probably play the size 9.5 without laces, which does have its own benefit) Comfort: If you are looking for cushioning, there isn't much on this shoe. In the mid sole and forefoot, you can definitely feel the ground contour. In the heel area, the ReactX cushioning is doing 'something'...? It might be a bit early to tell, but based on the two outings I have had with this shoe, I think shin splints might be a risk factor here, on these hard grounds. The lack of cushioning is why I am giving it 4 out of 5 stars. Playability: E x c e l l e n t. If you get your technique right, the link between what you want to do vs what the shoe delivers is flawless and spot on.
