ACG ゼガマ ハイク

I haven’t had the chance to actually take these hiking yet, so this is just my first impression. Right out of the box, they feel a little stiff, but surprisingly comfortable at the same time. I really like the glove-like sock fit around the ankles—it feels secure without being too tight. The colorway looks even better in person, and I’m really happy with how they look. I’m still on the fence about the material, though. It seems like it might be a little difficult to clean after getting dirty on the trails. From the way the outsole feels, they seem like they’ll hold up well on gravel and rough terrain. Overall, I’d definitely recommend them based on my first impressions, but I still need to put them to the test on an actual hike before giving a full review.

I absolutely love the Nike ACG Zegama Hike shoes. The colors almost feel a little retro. The thicker shoelaces make it feel secure and look robust. The traction on the sole is unmatched. The collar is very comfortable and effective but doesn’t feel too restricting or uncomfortable. For sizing I am usually anywhere between 10.5-11. The 10.5 in these was perfect and not too small. I would think someone usually between 10-10.5 could comfortably fit a 10. The toe box is spacious without being too wide or narrow.

I love these! Up until now, my “hiking” shoes/boots have been Nike Pegasus trail shoes. The lugs on these shoes are much more geared toward rugged terrain, so it’s a good change for me to make. I also really like the built-in sock/high top. It’s very comfortable, easy to put on, and works well with high or low cut socks. I have high volume feet (high insteps and arches). The arch supports for these shoes are fine, but the top stitching where the lace eyelets are put uncomfortable pressure on the tops of my feet. I may have to find a different lacing style so that I don’t develop blisters. These will need a bit of breaking in before any long runs or hikes. The shoes fit true to size, BUT only if you wear “normal” socks. If you plan on a heavy workout or hike where your feet swell, OR if you plan on wearing thicker hiking socks, such as wool socks, it may be worth it to size up. Essentially, the shoes fit true to size as is, for general athletic wear, but to be used as more intense hiking footwear, make sure you have enough wiggle room to account for sock thickness and normal foot swelling. Make sure to break them in before any serious hikes, runs, or walks!
