Nike Star Runner 5

These shoes are probably one of the worst designs. My 4 year old has fine motor and sensory issues. These shoes are impossible for him to put on independently. The Velcro fastening in and no structure to shoes is not ideal. I have 3 other older children and have had Nike before and usually love the lightweight but give this style a miss for your toddler.

Comfortable, according to my 3 year old, but the Velcro design is ridiculous. Opposite to how we’ve always taught her, confused her teachers, and the straps rub together when walking. Wouldn’t have bought, had I noticed!

I bought these a few weeks ago for my 3yo as his feet have grown quite quickly recently. He only began wearing them this week, which is when I realised that the Velcro fastening straps are tethered towards the inner shoe rather than the outer. A little strange as this will surely buffer against itself with close movements, plus it’s resulted in childcare staff putting his shoes on the opposite feet as the design is not typical. It almost seems like a design flaw, or something missed during production. The fit itself is fine, but the straps just make the shoes look bizarre the more you look at them.
