Nike Alphafly 3

Not gonna lie, I got these while on sale because they are so expensive but they are also super shoes. Can’t wait to run my marathon in them. True to size and comfortable never had an issue with Nike shoes on that.

I bought these at the start of the year explicitly for races. 7 wears in (approx. 115k) and the heal grips started to peel off and a crack appeared in the sole beneath the forefoot. Unsure as to whether this was a fault with this specific pair but very disappointing given the price point. I actually really love them and the ride is great but I wouldn't buy another pair purely for the way they've been manufactured. Nike were very helpful and provided a full refund. VF4 + Vomero + for the same price!

The Alphafly 3 is true to my pre-purchase research. Very light, comfortable and fast shoe. These are race day shoes, not everyday trainers (unless money is no issue for you). Prior to purchasing, I read that these shoes provide maximum benefit over 125-150 miles. I train in other, more stable, shoes and pull these out for a quick couple runs before wearing them in a marathon. First marathon was Erie and got my PR with a time to qualify for Boston and Chicago. My feet felt great after the race. I am a size 11.5, 58 years of age and 150 lbs. After years of thinking about it, I made the plunge and bought the Alphaflys. Glad I did. The reviews questioning these shoes is the result of people not doing the research and having expectations out of line with what the shoes offer.
