Uncertain transition

The Tech Pro Brief is an odd product which lands somewhere between microfiber briefs and bicycle shorts. Officially, this is a Nike Lifestyle product, indicating that the preferred use case is outside of sport, but the performance tends to tell a different kind of story. The length and fit of these briefs do resemble cycle shorts, and the materials have successful sweat-wicking properties - living in a tropical climate, this was immediately noticeable - but curiously, the density of the fabric and the length almost cancel that factor out; this is not a product to keep one cool in a lifestyle context. Going on a few runs wearing them, they tended to behave more positively, providing a dry ride, but yet again there's a contrast: the Tech Pro Brief runs a comfortable true-to-size, form-fitting without being too constrictive, but bizarrely, it has absolutely no support in the front. This is fairly noticeable in day-to-day wear, but extremely so if worn in an athletic capacity. For each positive, there seems to be an avoidable drawback, so figuring out the target audience for this product feels confusing. The material, while competent, still can't compete with my lifestyle brand briefs of choice, yet the product also doesn't commit to the "Pro" part of its title. It's an interesting offering, but ultimately just ends up feeling half-baked.
