Nike Pegasus Trail 4 GORE-TEX

• Probably not the best trail shoes…

  These shoes are, as you’d expect from Nike exceptionally comfortable and well made. True to size and keep feet dry in adverse weather conditions however the grips on these are TERRIBLE. You’d expect them to be more rugged for a shoe that’s to be worn in wet weather, running up hill is difficult as they offer very little traction and the downhill is “interesting” to say the least. I’ve a pair of wild horses as the grips on those would be a great addition to these. I’m a massive fan of Nike but not these; either have dry feet with no grip or wet feet with great grip on other models / brands. 6/10

• Not waterproof

  Bought these as I needed waterproof running shoes. Despite gore tex I still get damp socks when I run in moderate rain. Very disappointing as I got them for this specific reason.

• First time use review - 6k trail run.

  So this review is based off first run experience but these shoes were absolutely perfect in wet and windy conditions. A 6k trail run on a mixture of road, gravel and mud and the grip was impressive. They’re really comfortable and have good support around the heel & ankle. After the run they were covered in mud! I hosed them down with cold water and all the dirt came away with ease. Impressions for a 1st time use is definitely 5/5.
