These pants exceeded my expectations in every way but one…sizing (please see below). My almost 7 y/o daughter loved the texture and stretch that these pants had to offer. They are very stylish, but allow for athletic and casual wear. She wears these while playing squash, travelling to and from gymnastics classes, and during the day at school. The color way is easy to match and quite versatile. Attention to detail of the seamed pockets and stitched swoosh is great. She appreciates the baggy feel with elastic ankles to keep the cold air out this winter. The only reason I have to give only four stars is that they are on the larger size, so keep this in mind and you might want to size down. Otherwise, these are a fantastic edition to any kids closet. I’m even looking to see if they have them in adult sizes…

I understand these are loose fit, but my daughter is an XS and an XS was way too long and the elastic could not stay up on her waist. We ended up gifting these to my niece who is a medium and the XS seemed to fit perfectly. Aside from the sizing issue, my niece loved these pants. She said they were comfortable to wear to school all day and play soccer in after school. She always loses things at school so the zippered pockets were really helpful! She also ran in the mud with these on but they washed off very easily (like a windbreaker jacket). I want to recommend these and get them again but worried about the sizing issues.

I grabbed these black and obsidian Nike pants for my 11-year-old nephew, and they instantly became one of his favorites. These feel like the lighter, more flexible version of Tech Fleece — the woven material is stretchy, breathable, and surprisingly comfortable. As soon as he put them on he said they felt “easy to move in,” and that’s honestly the perfect description. They don’t weigh him down at all, and he can run, shoot hoops, or climb around outside without feeling restricted. The fit is roomy in a good way. He likes pants that give him space to move, and these do exactly that. The articulated knees actually help with that because the pants bend with him instead of pulling tight. The waistband has an elastic stretch with a drawcord, so he can adjust it depending on whether he’s wearing them for basketball practice or throwing them on over shorts when it’s cooler out. One thing I really appreciate is that these wick sweat away quickly. He runs hot when he’s active, so anything that helps him stay dry is a win. The fabric is a nylon-spandex blend, which makes them feel lightweight but still solid. They also have a light water-resistant feel to them, so if he’s outside and it starts drizzling or the ground is wet, he’s not instantly soaked. The pockets are another highlight. They have the taped, zippered side pockets — same type of design you’d see on Tech pieces — and a rear pocket too, so he can safely stash his phone or keys without worrying about them falling out. There are also small reflective details, which is a nice touch for visibility, especially now that it gets darker earlier. Style-wise, the black and obsidian color combo looks really clean. It’s simple but sharp, and it works with literally any top he already owns. Honestly, after seeing how good they look on him, I might have to get the matching top so he can wear the full set. Overall, these pants check every box: lightweight, breathable, super comfortable, durable, and perfect for active kids. Whether he’s getting ready for basketball, layering up for fall, or just hanging outside, these have been a great pick. My nephew loves them, and I definitely see him wearing them nonstop through fall and winter.
