Lizzy’s shoe, the Nike Free 5.0 TR Fit 5, is a tribute to her life in the spotlight and a testament to her strength. A glow in the dark dancer busts a move on the back heel, while sparkly laces remind her of the way her dance trophies shine in the light.
Take a second look at the Swoosh, and you’ll even see Lizzy’s name in block print. Throughout her cancer journey, Lizzy says she’s worked hard to stay positive. “It really makes a difference,” she said. “Instead of being scared, I just try to think about all the good things in my life, like my awesome family or getting to design my own shoe.”
For Lizzy, the best part about being a Freestyle designer was the chance to give back to other young patients and the doctors she credits with saving her life. “They’ve all been super nice and supportive—I actually enjoy going to my appointments now because of all the wonderful people there.”
This tiny dancer’s can-do attitude is best summed up by a few powerful words hidden in the print of her shoe: “Stay Strong. Dance on.”

Lizzy’s one-of-a-kind footwear, apparel and equipment designs will be sold on a limited edition basis at Nike retail locations and on Nike.com, with proceeds benefitting OHSU Doernbecher Children’s Hospital.
