In 1965, Bowerman protégé Kenny Moore broke his right foot while running in a pair of very blue shoes. Coach Bowerman, after promptly ripping them apart, began constructing a new racing model, one with superior cushioning and support. It was named Cortez. Now the color of Moore’s shoe returns, sporting premium suede, debossed heel branding and a sockliner printed with the X-ray of his fracture.
