SNKRS Atlanta partnered with Greg Mike to create a mural inside of the SNKRS pop-up that’s inspired by the city itself. “I’ve been doing art my entire life, so I don’t think there was any other option. I grew up skateboarding, doing graffiti and snowboarding. Art was always accompanied with all of that,” Greg Mike reveals while mapping out his SNKRS Atlanta mural.
Greg Mike originally fell in love with sneakers by way of his passion for skating. “When you’re growing up skateboarding, sneakers are a big part of that.” His connection to skateboarding culture and design has always been a constant influence on his work, and that shines through in his SNKRS Atlanta mural.
“If I’m able to create something that somebody can look at and that will make them pick up a paint brush, a pencil, a camera…get out in the world and try something they haven’t tried before, I think it’s a success. That’s always the goal,” says Greg Mike, “to hopefully inspire future generations like other artists have inspired me.”
