A legújabb kollekciónk, a Nike Circa 72 a múlt innovációit gondolja újra a jövő generáció számára. Utolsó frissítés: 2022. június 8. Olvasási idő: 4 perc  A legikonikusabb darabjaink természetes érzetet nyújtanak. A sokoldalú Windrunner. A tartást nyújtó Swoosh sportmelltartó. Egy színpompás Waffle One. Úgy tűnhet, hogy ezek az alapdarabok mindig is léteztek, készen arra, hogy bármikor kivedd őket a szekrényből, amikor csak önkifejezésre adnád a fejed. Nem mindig volt ez azonban így.  2022, Nike Sportswear szögletes fazonú női póló 1976, a „Baby Teeth” logó, Geoff Hollister tollából Vegyük például a Windrunnert, a ruhadarabot, melyet arra terveztünk, hogy akkor is funkcionáljon, amikor a futókra dézsából ömlik az eső az oregoni Portland szezonközi edzései során. 1978-ban, amikor Diane Katz – a Nike első professzionálisan képzett ruhadizájnere – és Geoff Hollister – a Nike harmadik alkalmazottja – először alkották meg a Windrunnert, a sportruházatok kategóriája még szinte nem is létezett. Katz a vízálló síruházatokból merített ihletet saját víziójához, és feltalálói lelkülettel vágott neki a munkának.  A folyamat egy kirakós volt. Hogyan tudott Katz mozgathatóvá, szellőzővé, valamint hosszú és rövid futásokhoz egyaránt megfelelővé tenni egy hagyományosan technikai anyagot? És hogyan volt képes ezekből az egymásnak ellentmondó ötletekből egyetlen, megkapó dizájnt alkotni? Fáradhatatlanul dolgozott, éjt nappallá téve gyártva a kabát prototípusait, amíg elő nem állt a ma ismert híres sziluettel.  Katz és Hollister elvégezték a munkájukat. A Windrunnert azonban nem hagyták jóvá azonnal. A kabát volt az első együttműködés a gyártó és egy sportruházat-dizájner között, a vállalat pedig minden egyes részletet a lehető legalaposabban megvizsgált. Nehéz elhinni, hogy a Windrunner egy példa nélküli és ellentmondásos darab volt. De tényleg így történt. Az évek során a Nike ruházati és cipőtermékcsaládjai tovább feszegették a múlt határait, ihletet adva ahhoz, ami még a jövő zenéje. A Circa 72 kollekcióban kizárólag olyan darabok kaptak helyet, melyek a már említett határok feszegetéséről mesélnek – olyan sportpálya ihlette alapdarabok, melyek az oregoni indulásunk napjainak színeit és mintáit idézik meg. A kollekció kulcsfontosságú darabjain: a sportmelltartón, a melegítőfelsőn, valamint a pólón Geoff Hollister „baby teeth” („babafogak”) nyomtatott nagybetűkkel szedett szóvédjegye látható, amely felidézi azokat a lázadó eszméket, amelyek a Niket születése idején támogatták. Erről az örökségről szól a Circa 72 kollekció – a Nike innovatív történelmének és feltalálói szellemének testamentuma.
