ACG Zegama Trail GORE-TEX

You get what you pay for and these excellent shoes are totally worth the expense. Possibly the best I’ve ever worn. Will need to get another pair soon.

The Zegama ACG has been an amazing shoe during these wet rainy weekends. They’ve kept my feet and ankles try without them getting hot and the Vibram outsole gives me the traction and confidence on trails or any surface. The fit started a little snug but broke in nicely, so I would definitely go true to size.

The Nike ACG Zegama Trail GORE-TEX sneaker has to be hands down one of the best shoes I’ve tried in a very long time. I admittedly love the ACG (All Conditions Gear) line that Nike has been doing for a while now, as a hiker their offerings have been great to me for years, and these shoes are the latest addition in a long line of successful releases. Immediately after putting the shoes on I was blown away by how comfortable they were. Normally sneakers for outdoor use can be rigid, especially in the midsole area, but these are fluffy clouds in comparison. Don’t get me wrong, the support and shock absorption is still there, every step was met with a bounce back to the next, but I was and am still blown away by how comfortable these shoes are! The comfort is even more surprising when I remember all the weather proofing additions of the GORE-TEX and Vibram counterparts keeping my feet dry and giving me confidence to wear these for rocky trail hikes. I will admit that when I first saw the sock-like opening of the shoe, I was afraid it would be cumbersome or degrade quickly, but they’re sturdy and soft, and I have yet to have an issue with them at all. Instead I was surprised at how the sock like opening acts as an extra layer of wetness protection for my socks and feet. I also really loved the speckled laces, the hints of reflective ink, and the fact that nike not only added the ACG logo, but spelled out All Conditions Gear on the inner side of the shoe. I also can’t say enough about how surprised and pleased I was by the extra layers of padding around the ankle itself, near the shoe opening. There are pieces of soft foam like material that hug your ankle and feel amazing. The shoe truly feels like I have the protection of a well made boot, with the mobility of the best casual Nike sneakers. Literally the only negative feelings I had toward the shoe were quality control issues like slight excess dried glue in certain spots around the midsole, and a few tiny grey pebbles on the sides of the outersole and under the foot of one shoe, but other than that the sneakers were an amazing addition to my ever-growing Nike ACG wardrobe!
