The Vaporfly 4 is a lean, mean, mile-eating machine. We trimmed weight in the midsole, outsole and upper from the Vaporfly 3, without sacrificing performance. The result is a lighter, more propulsive all-round racing shoe that's trusted from the mile to the marathon.

More energy return

Nike ZoomX foam, our most responsive foam, just got faster. Running from heel to toe, it unlocks even more energy return than before thanks to a slight midsole reduction, giving you a bouncy feel.

Engineered mesh

Engineered mesh offers improved comfort and a disappearing feel on your foot. It helps reduce the weight of the shoe while supplying a more consistent fit.

Light Feel

See how the midsole bulges out by the heel? We designed it that way to help reduce weight on the inside of the foot to give you a more stable ride.

Nike's most resilient foam just got a little better. The midsole design saves weight and unlocks even more energy return by reducing foam where it isn't needed.
The lab-tested and runner-validated, curved, full-length carbon-fibre Flyplate delivers a propulsive feel and unlocks more leverage from the foot and ankle.
The blown rubber outsole delivers a dynamic combination of traction, durability and cushioning. The softer material compresses to conform to the road for elevated traction and a smooth transition.
The engineered mesh upper increases comfort and fit consistency, while contributing to the overall weight savings of the shoe.

The engineered mesh helps reduce the weight of the shoe, while providing a more consistent fit. And we saved more weight by reducing the size of the heel and tongue.
Lighter foam
Nike ZoomX, our most responsive foam, just got lighter. Running from heel to toe, it unlocks even more energy return than before with a slight midsole reduction, giving you a bouncy, feathery feel.
A lighter outsole
We've reduced the weight of the outsole by using a thinner rubber compared with the Vaporfly 3.
Full speed
The full-length carbon-fibre Flyplate has a higher angle than the Vaporfly 3 and is combined with a lower heel-to-toe drop to give you a propulsive feel on race day.
