Kobe Vault

Kobe V

Kobe Bryant and Nike unveiled the Zoom Kobe V in December of 2009. Doubling down on the innovation of the prior silhouette, this signature model arrived as Nike Basketball’s lowest-profile and lightest basketball shoe at the time of release. The Kobe V was the result of vigorous testing to ensure lateral stability, mid-foot control and rigidity. Flywire technology was modified to achieve a lighter weight, overlays were bonded with heat welding, and Zoom Air units were added in the heel and forefoot. The Kobe V was the first in the line to include a codified language sequence known as the Kobe Code, represented through a dotmatrix symbol on the front edge of the outsole.

Kobe V Protro

The Kobe V was revealed in Protro form for the first time in December of 2019, led with the ‘Chaos’ colorway. Coined by Kobe himself, Protro stands for performance retro and involves enhancing existing silhouettes for the current state of the game. Among the modern upgrades, the Kobe V Protro features a 100% bigger Zoom Air unit in the forefoot, and softer foam is added in the midsole to improve responsiveness.
