Nem tudtam, hogy megkérdőjelezhetem ezt a nemi sztereotípiát.”  Ezért Nathan, aki az édesanyjával szoros kapcsolatban állt, és szeretett volna az édesapjával is több időt tölteni, kipróbálta a futballt, az osztályába járó többi fiúhoz hasonlóan. Emellett az atlétikát is. Aztán a küzdősportokat. De egyiket sem szerette. „Az edző üvöltözik veled, ebben nincs élvezet” – mondja. Végül az édesanyja őt is beíratta a Le Lidóba, Toulouse híres cirkuszakadémiájára. Nathan tehetségét először ott ismerte fel egy oktató, aki meggyőzte, hogy egy formális konzervatóriumban folytassa a táncolást. „Olyat hozott ki belőlem, amit elrejtettem magamban, mert eleinte nem gondoltam volna, hogy lehetséges megvalósítani” – mondja Nathan.  ## „Az iskolában a foci volt a fiúk tevékenysége, a táncolás meg a lányoké... Nem tudtam, hogy megkérdőjelezhetem ezt a nemi sztereotípiát.” Azonban amint a szenvedélye a felszínre törhetett, Nathan egy újabb akadállyal került szembe: meg kellett győznie a sikeres mérnök édesanyját, hogy van jövője karriert építeni előadóművészként. Kitartóan járt az intenzív táncórákra, amik heti 80 órányi táncstúdióban végzett gyakorlást jelentettek, miközben elvégzett mellette egy kétéves nemzetközi kereskedelmi tanfolyamot is. „Fárasztó volt, de ez volt az ára annak, hogy azt csinálhassam, amit szeretek” – mondta Nathan, aki továbbra is elkerülte, hogy beszéljen az édesanyjával. „Eleinte nem mondtam ki közvetlenül, hogy táncolni akarok, mert tudtam, hogy ez olyasvalami, amit nehezen fogadna el” – mondja Nathan. Hozzáteszi, hogy bár édesanyja büszke a táncban elért eredményeire, továbbra is azon aggódik (mint minden szülő), hogy a fia képes lesz-e kreativitását és tehetségét megélhetésre váltani.  Ettől függetlenül Nathan töretlenül koncentrál a céljaira. „Be akarom bizonyítani neki, hogy sikeres lehetek” – mondja, emellett a tánciparban uralkodó tévképzeteket is meg akarja kérdőjelezni. Már tapasztalt rasszista sztereotípiákat arról, hogy „a feketék jól táncolnak”, de ezzel együtt mégsem tekintik őket klasszikus táncosoknak. Kemény munkával és szorgalommal akarja ezeket a sztereotípiákat is megdönteni. Nathan következő állomása Belgium. Ott található az a patinás tánckonzervatórium, aminek hároméves képzésére nemrég felvételt nyert. Hogy utána mi lesz? Nathannek nagy tervei vannak. Olyan ünnepelt, modern tánckoreográfusok munkái ihlették meg, mint Jacob Jonas és James Wilton.
