Weird Proportions for a Track Jacket

The jacket length is the first thing you'll notice because it hits right at the waist. It creates a pretty awkward look that is hard to style for everyday use. I found I can only really wear this with a black t-shirt underneath so it isn't obvious that my shirt is actually longer than the jacket. If you wear any other color, the layering just looks messy because the jacket hem sits so high. The design is also a bit of a head-scratcher. It is labeled as a relaxed fit, but that only seems to apply to the sleeves, which are oversized and way too long. To make matters worse, the neck area feels huge compared to the short body. It feels like it was designed for a very specific build, maybe someone under 5'6" with a broad chest, but even then the sleeves would be an issue. It is hard to feel confident wearing this when the measurements feel so inconsistent across the board. On the plus side, the fabric is a good weight for a light breeze. It works well for a casual walk in a place like San Francisco where you just need a thin layer to stay comfortable. It is light and easy to move in, but the performance is mostly overshadowed by how distracting the cut is. I spent more time worrying about your shirt hanging out the bottom than enjoying my time wearing the jacket. This jacket could work if you are going for a very specific, super layered look, like a full skater outfit paired with baggy pants. However, if you are looking for an actual track jacket to use for training or daily wear after you buy it, you should look for another one. It falls short as a versatile piece because the proportions are just too far off to be functional for most people.
