HOW DO I TROUBLESHOOT MY NIKE ADAPT SHOES?

The Nike Adapt shoes are designed for performance and are built to be durable and reliable. But if you experience any technical errors, or if you want to reset your shoes, you have a few options:

  • Powering the shoes off, then back on.
  • Performing a hardware reset.
  • Performing a system reset.

Read on to determine which option will best meet your need, based on the issue you're experiencing.

Powering the Shoes Off, Then Back On
Turning off your Nike Adapt powers down the lace engine and resets any simple error, such as improper lacing or buttons being unresponsive.

  • To power off your shoes, press and hold both buttons for five seconds. Release when the LEDs turn red.
  • To power on your shoes, press and hold either the lace or unlace button for two seconds.

Hardware Reset
We recommend you reset your hardware when the shoes' lacing engines become unresponsive.

  • To perform a hardware reset, press and hold both buttons for 15 seconds.
  • When you're ready to power them back on, press and hold either the lace or unlace button for two seconds.

System Reset
We suggest you perform a system reset if you want to redo your Nike Adapt customisation settings and disconnect the pairing with the Adapt App.

Using the Nike Adapt shoes:

  • On either shoe, press both buttons and hold for five seconds. Release when the LEDs turn red.
  • Press and hold either button. When the lights turn on, press the other button three times until the lights turn green.
  • Repeat the same steps for your other shoe.

Using the Adapt App:

  • In the Adapt App Settings, select "Reset Shoes".
  • A confirmation window will open. Tap "Reset Shoes".
  • Finish resetting your shoes by going to your phone's Bluetooth settings and forgetting each shoe.

TROUBLESHOOTING SPECIFIC ISSUES

Unresponsive Device

Give these steps a try if you receive an "Unresponsive Device" message when attempting to sync your Nike Adapt shoes with the Nike Adapt App.

  1. Force-quit the Nike Adapt App.
  2. Delete the Bluetooth Device ID for the affected shoe from your phone's Bluetooth settings.
  3. On the Adapt shoes, press and hold down both buttons for 20 seconds. After 20 seconds, release both buttons.
  4. Press and hold one button for 1 second. The shoe should turn back on.
  5. Perform a system reset (see steps above).
  6. Re-launch the Nike Adapt App.
  7. On the lacing screen, wait for the pair dialogue to pop up to allow for re-pairing.
  8. Tap "Pair" to connect back with the left shoe. A reconnection modal will appear.
  9. When the shoes light up, press any button to reconnect.

Shoes Already Paired

Give these steps a try if you receive a "Shoes Already Paired" message when attempting to sync your Nike Adapt shoes with the Nike Adapt App.

  1. Log out of the Nike Adapt App and force-quit.
  2. Delete the Bluetooth device ID from your phone settings.
  3. System reset both left and right shoes.
  4. Open the Adapt App and sign in.
  5. Perform the pairing process again (make sure you keep the Adapt App open during the entire pairing process, and complete the pairing with both shoes).

Connection Issues

Try the following steps if you're experiencing connectivity issues.

  1. Force quit the Nike Adapt App, and then re-open the Adapt App. Observe if a connection occurs.
  2. Power down both shoes (see steps above), and power the shoes back on.
  3. Open the Adapt App and check the connection.
  4. Log out of the Adapt App and force-quit.
  5. Re-open the Adapt App and sign in. Observe connection.

If you're still experiencing connectivity issues after attempting these steps, try removing the shoes from your profile, system reset the shoes, and re-pair your Adapt shoes to your Adapt App.

Charging Pad

  1. If the battery is completely dead, it can take 20–30 minutes to turn on and start pulsing.
  2. If the lights on the shoe do not turn on after 20 minutes, lift the shoe off the pad, push either button, then place it back on the pad.
  3. If only one shoe starts charging, swap positions on the charging pad. If it turns on and starts to pulse, put the shoe back on the other side. If the lights do not turn on, this indicates a problem with the pad.

If you don't see your issue here, or if you've tried any of these steps and they haven't resolved your issue, feel free to reach out and we'll help get your Nike Adapt shoes back on track.
