I recently bought a pair of Vomero plus shoes to run in. I’ve had them for about 4 months and do all my walking and running in them and thought they were the most comfortable pair I’d worn from Nike. I thought the Pegasus Plus was a slightly worse shoe than the Vomero Plus. I think had I gotten the Pegasus Plus first it would’ve been the most comfortable Nike I’ve had to date (previous most comfortable being the Skylon 2).
When comparing the Pegasus Plus to the Vomero counterpart I felt it fell just short of the mark. The mesh used on the Pegasus Plus isn’t my favorite and I prefer the cloth-like texture on my version of the Vomero plus. However the main difference between the two that put the Vomero ahead was the forefoot comfort. In my Vomeros I have ran for miles and walked even more and my feet never got tired or felt pressure in any areas, the zoomx foam with a large heel drop kept a pretty smooth ride. In the Pegasus plus, in my forefoot where the zoom air unit is my foot would get tired especially on walks over 1.5 miles. When I took them off and expanded the foam midsole around the zoomx unit I noticed it was a different type of foam that wasn’t as plush (presumably to stabilize the zoom air unit). This in my opinion caused it to be a little less comfortable while wearing. I also feel like the Vomero plus propels you forward and the Pegasus plus doesn’t have that same push forward due to the shape of the midsole.
All that being said, the Pegasus plus is a comfortable shoe and one of the more comfortable pairs in my collection. I wore them to work where I’m on my feet for a large chunk of the day and active (I’m a teacher). Usually by the end of the day my feet get tired but these were perfectly comfortable and had no foot aches of any kind. I was pleasantly surprised with the tongue on this shoe as well. Before I tried them on I noticed the tongue was thin and in the past when I had shoes with thin tongues they would bunch up easily but the Pegasus plus never had this issue at any point. I thought they were also easy to slip on and off but they still managed to lock your foot down well and were stable under foot. I felt due to the smaller heel drop they were easier to wear as a daily shoe than the Vomero plus which feel less stable and more likely to roll an ankle in. All this is to say I’m very grateful for the shoes and to be chosen to test them and will get good use out of them. I would recommend them to people as I have the Vomero plus in the past. I got multiple compliments on them as well from different people in my time wearing them and think they look good wearing them with my daily outfits. If you have any follow up questions please feel free to ask.
