I bought these shoes with high expectations, but there were some drawbacks. First, they were quite uncomfortable initially; I actually had to take them to a shoe store to have the sides stretched. Second, I have a high/bumpy instep, and because the tongue is gusseted (attached at the sides), it caused some pressure and discomfort. Also, the soles had a strange chemical smell at first, though it mostly faded after a few days. Right now, they fit okay, but they still feel very tight/snug (like a football cleat). ON THE PLUS SIDE: The Vibram sole is the real deal—the grip is incredible and you absolutely will not slip. The Gore-Tex works perfectly too. As an AF1, they look fabulous—modern and cool, not like a typical 'old man' outdoor shoe. I suggest going half a size up because the fit is quite narrow and tight on the instep. Overall, I can wear them now without issues, but while they're a solid purchase, they aren't the most comfortable shoes I've ever owned.
