Shorts

Keep cool through the toughest training sessions in our high-performance shorts. We make our pairs in a variety of fits, lengths and cuts to suit the needs of your discipline. Expect pro-quality fabrics that provide comfort and coverage without weighing you down. Shopping for a junior sports star? Our kids' sizes are crafted from the same top-spec materials you'll find in our adults' apparel.

Stay cool

Because testing your limits means working up a sweat, we created Nike Dri-FIT technology. Shorts featuring this renowned fabric have moisture-wicking fibres that draw perspiration away from your skin, then transport it to the surface so it can dry quickly. Meanwhile, breathable properties in the material promote effective air circulation around your body. All of this means you can shed excess heat fast and efficiently. The result? You feel fresh and focused for longer, so you can concentrate on smashing your goals.

The freedom to move

At Nike, we believe your workout clothing should set you free—not hold you back. That's why you'll find shorts made from stretchy materials that flex with you and keep their shape. If you're powering through a challenging class or smashing out reps, look for pairs cut from squat-proof fabrics. These deliver excellent coverage, so you can stay confident from your first rep to your last. Combine this with no-chafe seams for lasting comfort, and you're ready to put in your best-ever performance. Looking for maximum freshness in the warmer months? Choose a pair of cotton shorts featuring naturally breathable fibres. These will help you shed excess heat efficiently.

Unleash your power

Because every athlete and every discipline is different, we make our shorts in various styles to match. If you'd like to see your form and line as you train, check out body-hugging pairs crafted from compressive materials. Maximise your coverage with a longer pair, or keep it breezy with shorter-length shorts. Prefer a loose fit? Go with designs in streamlined shapes that provide maximum freedom to move. And when it's time for a rest day, soft jersey shorts made from brushback fleece are an ideal option for kicking back and relaxing.

Small details, big difference

Fine margins count in sport, so we pay attention to every detail of our casual shorts. You'll find flexible elasticated waists for comfort, along with secure drawstring ties to hold everything in place. Keep an eye out for deep waistbands that ensure a no-roll fit—no matter how much you move. To have your essentials handy as you train, we've got designs with practical pockets, including zip-up compartments built into the back of the waist. If you're training while you're on your period, we have pairs with discreet leak protection. These work alongside your chosen sanitary wear to deliver maximum confidence at any time of the month.

Frequently Asked Questions about Nike shorts

What inseam length should I choose in Nike shorts?

Choose an inseam length based on how much coverage and freedom of movement you want. Shorter pairs can feel lighter and less restrictive for running or high-intensity training. Longer inseams provide extra coverage for gym work, warm-ups and everyday wear. Check the product details for the exact inseam and fit notes before choosing your size.

What's the difference between lined and linerless Nike shorts?

Lined Nike shorts include a built-in brief or inner short for added coverage and support, which can be useful for running, training and fast-paced movement. Linerless styles offer a more relaxed feel and are easy to pair with your preferred base layer. The best choice depends on comfort and the activity you have in mind.
