[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My son broke a finger sliding back on a pick off play. He was able to come back in a few weeks but still had pain in that hand/finger. We purchased this sliding mit and it has hard protection on both the bottom and the top of the glove. This helps with contact with the ground, the base and tag.
