I have owned a pair of the Smith Summit Convertible Cargo Pants in ‘Medium Olive’ for 4-years now and have exclusively worn them as shorts. After so many great adventures they’re still hanging tuff, I had to grab the shorts version in Court Blue! The waistband for these is much more comfortable although I don’t have much of an issue in comfort with the original. The fastened belt seems a little thinner, but doesn’t seem less durable, and secures at the waist very well. It is slightly harder to adjust than the predecessor, which isn’t very much an inconvenience for a fastening belt. I’ll also note this pair seems to be a bit lighter which is a very welcome addition! Fit is loose and comfy yet secure, just the same as the OG pair, cant wait to see the wear over the years!
