Nike Field General

The first thing that stood out was just how much the back and white popped out, the color way was really nice!! The shoe was very breathable and comfortable to wear no matter if you were just running a quick errand or on your feet all day. The shoes fit true to size and have ample room in the toe box for those who have a little bit of a wider foot. I would definitely recommend this shoe if you are looking for a nice daily wear shoe!

The Nike men’s field sneaker are a great casual, low profile sneaker option. I received the all black color with white swoosh which reminded me of a skater shoe from the 90’s. Overall, I felt the sneaker fits true to size and has a nice look and feel. That being said, I do feel the nylon parts of the upper don’t match the black leather/suede that well which makes it look cheap. Comfortability wise, they are fine. The polyester interior lining could pose a problem if wearing for a long time or walking, but generally the sneakers are comfortable and stylish.

Overall, I’m liking my new Nike Field Generals, but not loving them. These shoes are kind of like a strange mix of Dunks, Air Force 1’s, and Air Max 1s. They almost have a low pro aesthetic, but aren’t quite low/sleek enough to fit in with my other cleat-inspired Nikes like the Total 90s. I kind of wish they were either chunkier or sleeker, style wise. I like the simple color pallet of my Field Generals, but would prefer if they were all suede instead of being a mix of materials, although the mix does add to the sportiness of the shoe. Overall, the Field Generals fit true to size. They are definitely narrow compared to other Nikes and were hard to get on the first couple of wears, but once on they’re pretty comfortable. The materials used are a combination of suede and a sort of thicker mesh, which I feel adds to the stiffness. Due to the neutral color pallet and simple aesthetic, I find these shoes delightfully easy to style. I’ve worn them with dresses and skirts on the weekends and with jeans or slacks to work. They’re easy to dress up or down and comfortable enough for most scenarios. In my opinion these aren’t showstoppers, but they’re simple enough to work on multiple occasions and can be styled in a multitude of ways. The Field Generals are interesting new shape for me and while they may not be my favorite shoe, I like that they’re something fresh that I can pair with many different items.
