Shane Kluivert shines with the potential for greatness. The youngest ever athlete to join the Nike family, he is talented, committed and courageous. His spark a hint of brilliance to come.
A footballer since birth, Shane was chosen for the youth squads at Paris Saint-Germain and FC Barcelona. It is from these testing grounds that the superstars of the future will emerge. And Shane is focused on that future. He is fast by nature and fearless in pursuit of his goals.
"My first word was "ball". I started playing with my dad and brothers—on the beach, on the street, on the pitch. We were always playing. We loved it."
Shane's adaptability is his strength. He embraces change as an opportunity, moving between places like Holland and Curaçao, Paris and Barcelona. Football is the central element as he shares his journeys through Instagram with people around the world.
Football is Shane's first love, but cooking has become a close second—another passion shared with his dad. Diet is as important to an athlete as training, and Shane pursues cooking with the same intensity as he pursues football, crafting his favourite post-match meals on his YouTube channel. He is even publishing a cookbook later this month.
"I want to show my viewers that you have to believe in yourself. If I can do it they can do it too, because I'm just a normal kid."
EYES ON THE PRIZE
For now, Shane is focused on winning the youth league. But he dreams of playing professionally for FC Barcelona, training with heart to get there. He understands that to join the Blaugrana greats, he must continue to adapt, to work hard, and to fiercely chase his future. And—importantly—he understands that it must also be fun.
"My favourite thing about football is that you can't do it alone. You have to play together. And I truly enjoy playing, that's the most important part."
