The Vaporfly 4 is a mile-eating machine that just got lighter. We trimmed weight all over from the previous iteration without sacrificing performance. And the carbon-fibre Flyplate and ultra-responsive ZoomX foam midsole combine to give you race-day speed. The result is a more fine-tuned racing shoe that's trusted from the mile to the marathon.

Full speed

The full-length carbon-fibre Flyplate has a higher angle than the Vaporfly 3 and is combined with a lower heel-to-toe drop to give you a propulsive feel on race day.

Lighter foam

Nike ZoomX, our most responsive foam, just got lighter. Running from heel to toe, it unlocks even more energy return than before with a slight midsole reduction, giving you a bouncy, feathery feel.

Lighter upper

Engineered mesh helps reduce the weight of the shoe while providing a more consistent fit. And we saved more weight by reducing the size of the heel and tongue.

Lighter midsole and outsole

Midsole bulges at the heel to help reduce weight on the inside of the foot to give you a more stable ride. We reduced the weight of the outsole by using a thinner rubber compared with the Vaporfly 3.

What's new about the Vaporfly 4?

We made minor tweaks so you can enjoy major gains. We trimmed inessential weight in the upper, midsole and outsole without sacrificing performance.

really fast and lightweight. have only used it for a couple of runs but planning to use it for an upcoming Half Marathon.

Brilliant show, designed for speed over any distance, from 5k to the Marathon, and definitely proves it. It’s slightly lower stack and heel toe drop to the VF3 is perfect and allows this to have a unique place in Nikes lineup and justifies being one of the best shoes you can buy on the market. Well worth it.

The lab-tested and runner-validated, curved, full-length carbon-fibre Flyplate delivers a propulsive feel and unlocks more leverage from the foot and ankle.
The blown rubber outsole delivers a dynamic combination of traction, durability and cushioning. The softer material compresses to conform to the road for elevated traction and a smooth transition.
