The forefoot is more flexible because we shrank the Air Zoom unit and placed it where your foot feels the most impact. You still get responsive cushioning at the highest push-off point of your forefoot, but now there's more flex.
The outsole is made from a new rubber compound that's lighter than Vapors of the past. It allows you to decelerate, plant and back into position without feeling like you're rounding off your cuts.
We kept the same midsole foam and outsole pattern you loved on the Vapor 2 and improved the secure feel around the midfoot and heel for sharper cuts.
The supportive forefoot piece has a deeper flex notch to improve flexibility.
A full midfoot fit band helps you pull the laces tighter to enhance the fit and enable faster cuts.

Poor lace manufacturing

The front eyelet on the left shoe broke while lacing up the shoe during my first ever use of the shoe on the court. Reported it to Nike immediately and they said they’d look into it. I used the shoe a third time and then saw that the eyelet on the right shoe broke. It has been two months of me asking them to take it back to look at it and so I can get a new shoe but Nike have ghosted me. So now I play with a very loose shoe. Fun.

Context - I work on court 6-8 hours a day as a tennis pro. Pros - comfortable, lightweight, and true to size. After a long day I felt my feet were supported and had enough under them to be comfortable. Cons - shoe insoles, quality. I ran through the pair in a little over two months which is much faster than other shoes I have worn, I was quite upset with this and I feel maybe it was the material that made the shoe that was not durable. The insoles are two parts and I only noticed this because they started to come apart as if they weren’t sewn or glued together properly. Overall it’s not a bad shoe and I do like the comfortability and look of the shoe I just wished it lasted longer.

Very comfortable, nice and wide, good support, nice and light. Overall great pick. I have used many different pairs of tennis shoes and these are probably taking 1st place. Well made shoe
