ACG Lava Loft

The first thing I noticed about the jacket is the thumb hostler. It was helpful to have it while I was working with my hands outside and wanted to keep warm. The pockets are very functional with plenty of room for your phone, a beanie, or small water bottle. Against the cold winds the jacket kept me comfortable. The only feature I wish the jacket had that it doesn’t already offer is a hood. The design is functional, not too flashy, and durable. One of the reasons I look for jackets, coats, or hats in the men’s section is because the material and design for men’s apparel tends to withstand longer than female apparel. I would recommend this jacket for men or women as it is made with high quality material, built for performance in cold weather, fits well for someone with a longer torso.

This is one of the most unique jackets I have worn. It looks like a cross between a biker jacket and a running jacket. It’s pretty manly looking. The build quality is very high. I love that you can fit it all inside the inside pocket for traveling purposes. While it is warm because of the down, it also has airflow because of the holes in it. So it’s an interesting feel to have that warmth but with airflow. The sleeves do have hooks that you can put around your thumb but I found that it was fine to run with without using them. It also looks good for casual wear. My only holdup and reason for rating it a 4 instead of a 5 is because it has a dual zipper. While this enables you to open it up from the bottom too, I found that getting it zipped and unzipped normally was a little finicky sometimes. I also wouldn’t use the unzip portion from the bottom but if you would it might be a plus. Overall it has an excellent build and looks great.

I've been wearing the ACG Lava Loft for a while now, and it's honestly one of my favorite jackets. The biggest thing that stands out is how lightweight it feels while still keeping me surprisingly warm. It has a more athletic fit, but it's comfortable and moves really well without feeling restrictive. What I like most is how versatile it is. I've worn it for walks, running errands, and spending time outside in cooler weather, and it always seems to stay comfortable. It provides plenty of warmth without feeling stuffy, which is something I've struggled with in other insulated jackets. The materials feel premium, the design looks great, and it doesn't have that bulky look that a lot of warm jackets tend to have. My only real nitpick is the zipper. When it's fully unzipped, the bottom doesn't have the typical plastic stop piece I'm used to seeing, so at first I thought the zipper might come completely off. I actually gave it a few test tugs and it never budged, so it doesn't seem to be an issue at all. It may just be an intentional design choice, but it took me a little time to get used to it. Overall, this jacket exceeded my expectations. It's lightweight, comfortable, warm, and looks good enough to wear anywhere. Definitely one of those pieces that makes you want to keep reaching for it whenever the temperature drops.
