As a former soccer player I'd say they're lighter on the protection and more geared towards the low profile/comfortable that is the style these days.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These shin guards are just fine. They offer adequate protection and fit comfortably, but there is nothing particularly special about them. If you need simple shin guards that do what they are supposed to, these will work.
