Nike Tiempo Ligera Pro (Men’s 11.5 – Hot Pink)
Let me start with a little context: it’s been over 20 years since I last owned a pair of cleats. Back then, I was…slightly more athletic and significantly less concerned about pulling something just by thinking about sprinting. Fast forward to today—three kids under 8 all playing soccer—and it was time to lace up again (mostly to coach and occasionally demonstrate what not to do).
Fit & Feel
First thing: these run true to size. I went with my usual 11.5, and they fit well—but keep in mind your sock game. If you’re rocking thicker socks, you may want to consider a half-size up. Once on, though, these feel incredible. No squeezing, no stiff “break-in needed” feeling I remember from older cleats.
Honestly, they’re shockingly light. I picked them up out of the box and thought somehow there had been a mistake—they feel lighter than my sandals. Walking onto the grass, I completely forgot I was even wearing cleats…until I stepped onto pavement and heard that unmistakable “click-click” that instantly reminded me I’m not in flip-flops.
Design
Let’s talk about the hot pink. There is no “blending in” here. These are a look-at-me-now kind of shoe. My wife thought I accidentally bought her a pair. My kids assumed the same. At the park, heads turned—every single time.
I’ll admit, I’ve never been a “match your cleats to your outfit” guy. But these kind of force you into it. Pair them with black and they look sharp. Wear anything else and…well, you better be confident.
Fabric & Build
The microfiber upper feels modern and comfortable—far from the stiff, heavy materials I remember from decades ago. They hug your foot without being restrictive, and the insole adds to that “barely there” feel.
On grass, the traction is solid. Maybe too solid at times, depending on the surface. You definitely feel planted, which is great for most scenarios.

What I Would Change
This isn’t so much about this specific shoe as it is a wish list for the future:
Laces – As a dad constantly tying kids’ shoes, I was hoping by now we’d have some kind of self-tying or more secure system. Double knots are still undefeated.
Flex in traction – On certain grass types, cleats can feel too locked in. A little give could help avoid those “well, there goes my ankle” moments. Then again, maybe that’s just my 40-year-old body talking.
Final Take
These cleats are a massive upgrade from what I remember—lightweight, comfortable, and surprisingly wearable for long stretches. The hot pink might not be for everyone, but if you’re okay being noticed (or accidentally mistaken for buying your spouse new shoes), you’ll love them.
Just remember: they might make you look faster—but they won’t stop you from needing a good stretch beforehand.
