As a runner, I’ve really enjoyed using the Nike ACG “Cosmic Peaks” Storm-FIT ADV Trail Running Jacket. It’s lightweight, comfortable, and does a great job blocking wind and light rain without overheating during runs. The fit feels athletic without being restrictive, which makes it easy to move naturally. What stood out most to me was how protective the jacket feels while still staying breathable on outdoor runs. I also really like the overall design and quality of the fabric. My only suggestion would be adding side pockets, which would be a total game changer for runners who like quick access to essentials. Overall, it’s a great jacket for running and everyday wear.

Perfect for spring and summer when the weather is unpredictable and you don’t want to be stuck wearing something heavy. First thing I noticed is the material. It feels lightweight but still high quality, not thin in a cheap way. Nike uses their Storm-FIT ADV technology on this, so it’s fully windproof and waterproof, not just water resistant. It’s also seam-sealed, so it actually holds up in real rain instead of just light drizzle. At the same time, it’s breathable, which makes a big difference. You can wear this out walking, running errands, or even doing something active and it doesn’t feel stuffy. Fit is on point. I’m 5’10 around 205 and went with an extra large. It fits really well and gives me just enough room to layer a sweatshirt or sweater underneath without feeling tight. That’s important for me because I don’t like jackets that are too slim. This still keeps a clean look though, not baggy or oversized. The design is simple but functional, which is what you want from ACG. The hood is actually useful and not just for looks. It has adjustability and a structured brim, so it stays in place and helps keep rain off your face. There’s also good ventilation built in with mesh areas in the back, underarms, and hood, so even though it’s waterproof, you don’t overheat. Zipper quality feels solid and smooth, and the overall construction just feels well made. You can tell it’s designed more for real use, not just style. One of my favorite features is how packable it is. You can fold it down into its own pocket, so it barely takes up any space. Easy to throw in a backpack, gym bag, or even keep in the car. As a standalone shell, it shines in the low 60s, and I’ve comfortably worn it walking around in the 70s. That said, if you’re running hard, the low-to-mid 60s with rain is probably the upper limit — I started feeling warm around mile 1 at 65°F and rain. That’s not a negative; it just means this jacket knows its lane and excels in it. Breathability For a waterproof shell, the breathability is genuinely surprising. The vents are thoughtfully placed. They overlap in a way that keeps rain out while still letting heat escape. You get airflow without sacrificing dryness. Well engineered. The Hood Functional and comfortable, with a vent near the crown that’s a welcome touch for warmer runs. One tip: cinch it down or it’ll shift around on you. Once tightened, it stays put. Storage One pocket. For most people, that’s all you need. It fits a phone easily and keeps it dry. The orientation of the pocket naturally slides your phone horizontal, which sounds more annoying than it really is and didn’t bother me while running. Fit & Sizing I’m 6’1”, 200 lbs and typically float between a Medium and Large depending on the brand and fit. The Large here runs a bit roomy, but I’m actually enjoying that for running — it gives me freedom of movement and room to layer underneath on colder days. If you’re between sizes, consider what you’ll use it for: size down for a cleaner look, size up if layering or mobility matters more. Beyond the Run Stylish enough that I’ve worn it casually. I also think it would work as a golf shell and — perhaps most importantly — it’s an excellent dog walking jacket. Bottom Line: A well-designed, lightweight shell that handles rain, wind, and cooler temps with ease. The breathability and smart venting set it apart from stiffer, stuffier options in this category. Highly recommended for runners, golfers, dog walkers, and anyone who just wants a reliable, versatile layer.
