ACG Lava Loft

The ACG Lava Loft Men’s Therma-Fit Jacket was not what I expected taking it out of the package. It’s thin and I assumed that meant there was no way it would be warm at all and I was very pleasantly surprised! It is lightweight but keeps me shockingly warm. It’s been perfect as we transition into fall on really chilly mornings. I have a long torso and longer arms and the fit is slim but a great length in both areas. I struggled with the double zipper as it seems to make it not as smooth of a zipper and gets stuck but nothing I can’t get over. I love that I can wear this jacket everyday and also use it for morning runs as it gets colder. This is a great jacket that not only looks good and also performs well.

This jacket fits perfectly on this 60+ average-size grandpa. It is sooo lightweight, and feels comfortably smooth. It is designed to fit into a backpack without taking excess room or adding excess weight. It has a pouch fastened inside that can easily contain the whole jacket. The feature that stood out the most to me is how it doesn’t restrict movement in any way. I really like that. I will say this jacket did have me puzzled at first! It has tiny holes around baffles that are filled with down. I wasn’t sure what to think of that at first, but it is supposed to allow air to circulate while at the same time providing a comfortable amount of warmth. I can’t say how it feels at below freezing temps because we haven’t had that type of weather yet, but at cooler fall temps it is very comfortable and yet warm. The jacket is black which is my preferred color too. I can’t think of anything I would change! The jacket will make it more likely for this PopPop to go out and get some exercise, especially the kind chasing after grandkids!

For starters, I thought the fit of this jacket was very very well done. I'm a slender guy with a long torso and I liked the length a lot. The sleeves are also quite long, but not too long, which is nice since sleeves can often be too short. Overall I have no complaints at all about the fit and feel! As far as the design, I initially wasn't a huge fan of the holes and stripes of insulation, but it actually doesn't bother after wearing it a few times. It looks fine and I love that there's an inside pocket for a cell phone or other valuables. I don't love the zipper quality - I find it a bit weak and I find myself feeling like I'm gonna break it each time I zip it. But this jacket does perform very well for its main purpose, which is regulating my temperature during physical activity. I find it keeps my body temperature at a perfect degree, neithe too hot nor too cold. I also really like how I can compact/ball it up into a small volume making it super easy to pack! My favorite thing about this jacket is the temperature regulation and how it keeps my body comfortably warm. I'd rather have a sturdier/larger zipper. But overall I like the jacket a lot, and any issue I had with it was very minor!
