- The recycled polyester used in Nike products begins as recycled plastic bottles, which are cleaned, shredded into flakes and converted into pellets. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My son wanted this in black but it was out of stock so he was content with the Red. The backpack is large with a lot of storage room but not heavy when empty. That helps lighten the load when he packs it with school supplies and his sports gear!
