Paper thin

Loved the color-way and look and I really wanted to like these, but they are paper thin. I would love this show to be in an actual leather instead of mostly nylon.

Storytime: Before Nike was even called Nike, Bill Bowerman used a waffle iron to create the company's first running shoe. You guessed it—the Moon Shoe. Mixed materials update its slim upper, while the original Waffle sole maintains its '70s runner style. Step through history with the shoe that started it all.

Nike Moon Shoe OG
We didn’t need to send LISA to the moon to celebrate the official planetary debut of the new Moon Shoe colourway. Why? Because she already has her own gravitational pull. Instead, the moon came to her.

First prototyped in 1971 before Nike was even called Nike, Moon Shoe got its name when runners looked back to see the waffle sole print they left behind on the track. It reminded them of the moon landing. 55 years later, we’re all calling it Moon Shoe, the shoe that started it all.

From the beginning, the original Moon Shoe was designed by hand by big dreamers for a world that wasn’t quite ready for it. It was the first ever shoe with a waffle sole, but only a few dozen prototypes were ever made. Now it returns to Earth for those ready to leave their own mark.
