  • Lace loop tore after 5 wears — unusable lockdown

    VadymO145236412

Extremely disappointed. After only 5 wears (4x treadmill, 1x outside in dry weather), a lace loop tore while tightening the laces. From that point I couldn’t lace the shoe properly and the lockdown felt loose. No washing, no repair attempts, and the only cleaning was a quick dry brush on the midsole, nowhere near the damaged area. Comfortable cushioning, but basic durability failed almost immediately, so I can’t recommend them.

I detested these at first. I've always loved higher stack shoes, especially for easy runs, and clearly ZoomX is superior to most foams on the market, but when you first put these on, it doesn't take long to realize that they are heavy and there is ZERO ground feel. After my first run in them, I thought they weren't going to work, but I already bought them so I gave them a few more tries and now I'm 81 miles in, and they are my favorite easy run road shoes of all time. My longest run in them has only been ten miles but I can genuinely say I've felt zero soreness and fatigue following runs of any distance. They are also suitable for picking up the pace on shorter runs. I didn't expect them to be versatile, but they are pretty close to a do everything shoe. I'm not sure how the foam will hold-up but at 81 miles, I can't even think of one downside, other than I do believe there is a small break-in period which didn't exist with the Invincible. That's it.

  • Excellent comfort, very poor durability.

This is my second pair of these and I’m pleased I’ve got the opportunity to leave a second review as my first was done after a week of owning my first pair. My opinion on these as a running shoe has not changed as they are by far the best running shoes I’ve ever had the pleasure of wearing in terms of comfort right out the box, cushioning, responsiveness and weight. They are perfect for what I look for in a shoe to run at an easy pace between 3 and 8 miles 6 times per week. My biggest complaint is that they are not durable at all. I only used my first pair for road/pavement running and after somewhere in the region of 100 miles the outsole has worn to the point that they are just about ready for the bin (thankfully bad weather is increasing their lifespan as I use Vomero GTX in the rain which unfortunately are nowhere near as comfortable.) I’d really expect better durability for the price but it is what it is and I will have to keep buying these due to the comfort, although I thought it worth flagging this issue for others to see. Nike, maybe try using the same rubber that you use in the Storm Tread as that lasts indefinitely (actually use my Infinity GTX for trail running and they’ve hardly worn at all), and a little extra weight will be fine by me to save a few hundred pounds a year!

Un amorti maximal ultra-épais et ultra-souple pour un confort optimisé sous le pied.
