  • Great Grip, but a Little Bulky

    Packerfan24

After trying the Giannis Immortality 5, my first impression is that it offers strong court control but feels heavier and bulkier than I expected. The fit is secure through the midfoot and heel, and the upper locks my foot down well without feeling overly stiff. The synthetic and mesh construction feels supportive and reasonably breathable, although the materials do not feel especially premium. The best part of the shoe is the traction. Anchoring, stopping, and pivoting all felt confident, and the outsole gave me good control when changing direction, especially during quick cuts. That matches the shoe’s focus on multidirectional grip. The cushioning also feels supportive under the heel and responsive enough in the forefoot, but the overall ride is not especially quick or lightweight. Visually, I like the aggressive shape, sculpted side panels, and black, white, and Volt color combination. It looks modern and performance-focused, although the thick sidewalls make the shoe appear and feel bulky. In that respect, it reminded me of some LeBron models. Overall, I liked the grip, stability, lockdown, and bold design most. I would change the weight and streamline the upper and midsole so the shoe feels faster and less cumbersome during extended play.

It’s a great basketball sneaker fits a little snug so if you don’t like a snug fit and you need a little bit more room than I would definitely suggest going up a size. But it’s a great basketball sneaker nice workout sneaker once I break them in they’ll be perfect.

  • Giannis Immortality 5: Affordable Performance with a Bold Colorway

    Preeth

The Giannis Immortality 5 has been a pleasant surprise and has quickly become a solid option for my outdoor court rotation. Right away, the white, black, and neon volt colorway stood out. The bright volt Swoosh adds just enough pop without being over the top, and my kids immediately noticed it. In fact, they kept pointing at the shoes and saying those were my "highlighter shoes" because they loved the bright volt accents! The fit is comfortable with a lightweight, modern, and sleek feel that doesn't overcomplicate things. This is very much a no-frills performance shoe that does exactly what it's supposed to do and anything more. I've used them for outdoor pick-up games and everyday errands like a quick grocery run, and they've held up well. The traction is excellent, especially outdoors, and the cushioning is decent without feeling overly soft. The materials feel durable for the price point, although you can tell Nike prioritized performance and simplicity over premium finishes. Support is adequate, but not exceptional, and after longer periods on my feet, I did wish there was a little more cushioning underfoot. What I like most is the versatility in different settings. I've worn them with shorts during hot summer days at the park with the kiddos, with jeans for casual outings, and even with khakis in a relaxed office environment. The colorway is surprisingly easy to style despite the bright volt accents. If I could change anything, I would add a softer midsole and improve the overall support, especially for longer days of wear. Overall, though, the Giannis Immortality 5 is a dependable, affordable performance shoe that doesn't try to be something it's not. It's simple, functional, and stylish enough to transition between sports, errands, and everyday life.
