Kobe VII

Kobe Bryant and Nike unveiled the Kobe VII—also known as the Kobe VII System—in December of 2011. This shoe introduced a customization concept to the signature line, allowing players to interchange the cushioning and ankle support for their style of play.
Two inserts were created, labeled as Attack Fast and Attack Strong. The former was built with speed in mind, and featured a Phylon midsole with Zoom Air units in the forefoot and heel for lightweight responsiveness. Also included was a low-cut, power-stretch cuff that hugs the foot for support. The Attack Strong insert complemented intense play in the paint, and featured a full-length Cushlon midsole as well as an ankle cuff for a plush, comfortable ride.
The Kobe VII upper’s outer shell design simulated the look of three “predator” patterns nodding to Kobe’s predator instinct: the Leopard, Great White Shark, and Black Mamba. For support throughout, the shoe fused Flywire technology, a 3-D heel clip, and a glass reinforced composite shank in the midsole.
