Nike Narrow Vermeros are all too narrow in so called extra wide, including the narrow Plus. They had the Invincibles that were wide and truely wide in the wide width, NOT these. Too bad they discontinued the only really wide shoe they made, now I can't wear any of them!

I ordered size 9 wide, right shoe is perfect, comfort and compressibility of the foam is perfect. Not sure about the left shoe. It feels like there is a seam in my sock just under my big toe - but there is not! Nor can I detect any abnormality in the first layer of (removable) foam insole, nor can I feel anything strange by pressing with my finger on the sole of the shoe. So, the verdict is still in the balance. Was wondering whether to return and try 9.5 wide instead although I really wanted to keep the shoes as short as possible. (With old and heavy Rebok DMX I am OK with 8.5 4E extra wide.

Your extra wide is only wide. When you say extra wide they should be made extra wide not just wide. When you get them it says wide on the box you need to fix this. I sent a couple of pairs back because of this.
